I agree that it was probably too loose. Ours wears her collar all the time because I want her to have her tags. My hubby found a dog running down the street a few weeks ago, and because it had ID right on the collar, he was able to get the dog home with no problem to the greatful owners. I also walk mine with a harness, but the ID on the collar can save a dog from going to the Humane Society for a day or two.
