Anyways, I know that she will not be as rough as Tucker gets when he plays so I am concerned about letting them be together at first. I thought about letting her share Tucker's crate for the first few weeks since she will be so young and scared after losing her littermates.. But I know that Tucker won't leave her alone to rest, he'll wanna play all night with her and she won't be big enough to boss him..Do I need to keep them seperated until she is older? Should she have her own crate from the beginning and should I put her crate next to Tucker's or put her in another room away from his? Any advice would help..Thanks!
That is a pretty young girl your getting. I got Bella the day she turned 8 weeks and i thought that was also a little young.
Anyways i asked the same question before Bella came home to meet Ruby and i didn't get very many replies so i'll try to help you out.
I was luckey enough that i was able to bring Bella to my breeders house to introduce them there a few times before Bella came home. I would recommend that first but not very many people are able to do that.
When you bring her home Tucker should be in a different room so she can be by herself to check everything out. The first things you should show her is where the food/water is, pee pads, and her crate (they should have their own crates). When she's done exploring you should introduce both of them in a none territorial place like a living room and not the kitchen. They both should be on the floor and not one in your arms and one on the floor because the one in your arms would be introduced as the Alfa being higher than the other. Is Tucker a big Yorkie? Ruby is 3.9 lbs and Bella is 1.9 lbs so i didn't have to worry very much with rough playing because their sizes weren't that far off. But if you have a 13lb yorkie and a six week old baby i wouldn't let them spend a lot of time together until your girl gets some weight on her.
Just make sure when your introducing them you give Tucker a lot of attention and be close enough to them that if something goes wrong you can scoop one of them up really fast.
It's a lot of fun having two
Good luck with the introduction and let us know how it goes !!
