Due to hypothyroidism I had some really dry, cracked heals. I found several things that would work well. Once my thyroid meds are balanced, not so much problem anymore. But here are some of the things I used:

Zim's crack cream works great -- even better in the lotion version but the cream is easier to deal with. I put it on thick, add socks overnight, and by morning, soft heals!

You will think this is crazy but I have also used Beaudreaux's Butt Paste on my heals. It is actually sold for diaper rash but I wondered if it would work and it did! I don't have this on hand anymore so have not used it in a long time. But in a pinch....

Bag Balm works extremely well for any cracked, dry skin. Walmart has this sometimes, comes in a little tin.

Bath and Body's Body Butter -- comes in all their scents. I would slather it on thick, add socks overnight and usually had smooth heals by morning.

I think any of the creams that are heavy with oil will work to soften the heals if used in abundance and held on with socks overnight.

Came back to add -- be careful with the pedicures. I think some of them will use that shave thing too much and leave your skin half raw. I noticed when I changed to another place for nail care, they do not use the skin shaver on my heels and no more peeling layers!
