Lacie doesn't seem to have enough milk but I am supplimenting the feeding several times a day.
Lacie has been given 5 oxytoxin shots to help bring in milk, but is still not producting enough.
She is nursing 5 pups between the sizes of 4-5 oz each.
any other advice at this point for us?
THANK YOU DEB FOR THE PHONE CALL...it was wonderful talking with you. |
I would keep giving her whelping pudding. I didn't have trouble with not enough milk, but actually too much of it. I would keep supplimenting them until they get old enough to eat on their own. Once they get about 2 weeks old, you may want to add some rice to their formula to try to make sure that they get full. Other than that, I would keep the mother on good quality pet food. Have you tried giving her some B-6 vitamins? I have heard that helps with milk production. Good luck.
