I've been reading a lot of posts on this site concerning luxating patella. My question is... is there any way to decrease the chances that my puppy will have a luxating patella in the future?

I know I should prevent her from jumping up and down a lot.

Would giving her cosequin and glucosamine supplements be OK? Or should she only get those supplements if she does have luxating patella? Are there any side effects to these supplements?
