My tip to you. Start potty training as soon as you get home. Decide right now if you want him to potty outside or potty on a pee pad. Stick with a schedule that will work for you. Feed your puppy at a certain time only. Oh...and if you see him pee don't let it slide. Let him know right away that he did something wrong. ( even if they are giving you the cutest innocent face in the world - I got sucked in but now I'm paying for it big time. lol.....constant carpet cleaning it not fun after the......5th time and counting)
Do NOT feed your dog human food or let him know what it is. lol. . . That is my biggest regret. Introducing human food to Libbie. Oh and if you do decide to feed him human food decide on what and stick to just that. Don't give him a verity - not only will he be having major diarrhea he would also be hooked and know that there is better tasting food that he can have rather than his plain ole dog food and boy are they smart. They will strave themselfs and make you feel all bad so you feed them the human food. Oh and for human food IF you decide to give him - make sure he earns it...kinda like a treat.
I hope this helps a little. . . . there is so much more on here you can learn. These are just the two that I wished I would have stuck to. Now I'm regretting it. LOL... but I'm not giving up. I just have to train harder.
One last thing - not will you only be training your yorkie.....you gotta be training yourself and others that will deal with him on a dailly basis.
