Sounds like Gunner will be ok. I hope your daughter is ok...I am sure the experience was quite traumatic for her. Yes, this is common...yorkies are wiggle worms. You did not mention the age of your daughter, but if she is young, I would suggest that you teach her to sit with Gunner and not pick him up. Children love to hug them and carry them around and it is just not a good practice. I have seen some pretty awful injuries including death from falls.

When I am out with my pups which is often, I get a lot of requests to pick them up. I always say no. There is no reason for anyone to do that...they can pet them in their stroller! ...or on leash. It is too dangerous for them to have people handling them. They have tough little personalities but fragile bones!

If your daughter is an adult, she will probably have learned from this experience. We all need to be ever vigilant .. these little ones can get injured so easily.
