Sophie learned to climb out of her xpen so we decided to let her stay out of it. We used two baby gates to set off the bedroom & the laundry room from her so that the 3 cats could have a place to hide (bedroom) and go potty (laundry room). Sophie only is able to be in the great room and the kitchen Everything was fine until about a week or so ago. The cats have started to use the bathroom everywhere but the litter boxes. They will poop all over the kitchen floor next to the door to the laundry room and they will pee all over the furniture. We've spent the last week cleaning the couch and chair inside and out due to this. And to top it all off, Sophie eats the poop and it gets all over!!!!!!!! I'm at a loss of what to do!!

We've tried leaving 2 litter boxes where they normally are and putting one in the bedroom's bathroom so they could have access to it and she wouldn't be around. That didn't work. My only other solutions that I can think of are to try a top entry litter box for the cats and not block off the laundry room so that they don't have to jump over the gate OR to get a top for Sophie's xpen. I don't want to have to start putting her back in the xpen after she's been out for so long b/c she behaves better now, but I don't know if the other will work! Does anyone else have an suggestions?
