I'm in the midst of pad training Sydney. Some days she goes to the pads on her own, and others she wants to drop her fuzzy little butt where ever she wants. One trick I heard was to put their food and water where you don't want them going. The dog will usually stop. What I would suggest is supervising her while she's in her x-pen. Encourage her to use the box and when she does, praise her like crazy.
