I would also suggest putting your baby in a crate at first. Maggie absolutely hated it..but it's the best thing when they're that young. she would cry non-stop until i was lying RIGHT next to the cage with my fingers in it. I had to build a contraption that i put the cage on so it was right next to my face when i slept in my bed. I know it sounds crazy, but it broke my heart everytime she cried for me at night. It eventually got better.. and then she started sleeping with me. That's where they're most comfortable.

Also, if your new puppy gets use to the crate it's almost a given that it will help emensley with the house training. Once they realize that the crate is their home and they have to stay in there occasionally, they'll refuse to pee in it. That way, as soon as you take them out you can go directly outside and they'll go!
