Normal treatment for giardia is treat with panacur for 5 days, then wait 10 days and treat for another 3 days.
If he is using Flaygl it could be different.

When Sissy had Giardia - Pancur did not work. It tooks 10 days of Metronidazole (Flagyl) for it to clear up after a week of Pancur. Three days of treatment is definitely not enough for a positive Giardia sample.
Giardia isn't anything to fool around with. It is possible for them to have it and not appear ill, but once they do it can be a very rapid onset with extremely rapid dehydration. Bloody, watering/mucousy, explosive stools can happen in an instant (and look like a horror show). Giardia can also scar the intestinal tract and make them susceptible to other intestinal issues.
