Peanut is the same way, He is just a brat the groomer will just tip them, I like them cut a little shorter.. and he will not let me cut them on my own so I have my friend cut his nails and I hold him. Usually he is really good when I hold him. I scruff him like you do a cat and it seems to calm him down and hold still...
Just a thought maybe you can try to hold him and have your groomer cut the nails...
