You should post this on the General YT Board. I think you'll get a lot more input than here.

Some Yorkies are good with children & some aren't. Some children are good with small animals, & some aren't.

Since Yorkies are small, the children should be over 5 to 7 years of age. You should get a Yorkie on the big (tea pot) side (over 7 pounds).

Lots of Yorkie owners are away during the day. Older Yorkies sleep a lot. You need to make sure they are in a safe place, have toys to play with, a comfortable place to sleep, & water. Your other dogs would be company.

You should check out rescues.
