Thanks!! Yes, I have been looking quite diligently online and doing lots of searches. And yes, I would never consider buying without visiting the location first. Many of the sites that I find seem to breed many types of dogs and I am not sure I want to buy from them (sorry, but let me know if I am off base by that statement or not!). Having many, many different breeds of pups for sale at one time is a kind of a turn off for me. Further, I do a google search on the name, operation name and phone number of the contact as well. I definitly plan on executing a complete check. At present, there are only a handful of people that I plan on connecting with in MN and in Iowa.
That is one reason I wanted to pose the question to the group - if there are any quality breeders, perhaps smaller operations, that might be tough to find just doing a basic google search, I'd like to know.
Your idea regarding checking w/vets though is a very good one. I will do that for sure. |
