oh and HGE is very noticeable it is bloody clumpy diarhea like raspberry jam and dogs can get it over and over -- it is tied to salmonella or ecoli from food in many cases so why you have to be careful feeding raw - this disease is deadly if not handled immediately as the red blood cell count increases rapidly and then shuts down the organs so if you ever see clumpy bloody diarhea get your dog in fast on fluid therapy and amporal i believe is what they use - they can also get it from coming in contact with a dead animal in the yard and it is NOT contagious to your other dogs fyi

also once they get it they can easily get it over and over
