Welcome, I am also new. I just recently had success training my pup. It took me 2 1/2 months. My advice is to be consistent. I have never heard to let your pup pee/poop in his crate. Some people crate train, but i did not. I use the pee pads. i have one in my living room and one in my room. Whenever he would go on the carpet i would hold him there and tell him no and act very mad and dissapointed. You just have to learn when he has to go and put him on the pad every hour or so and tell him your command word (go pee). It took me forever and fustrated me but he only has about 1 accident a day now. When ever he goes on the pad praise him and give a small treat. But if you are home all day try crate training. hope this helps. Hang in their. You can do a seach in the forum and get all the past great advice that others gave. good luck
