I have heard they go through a thin hair phase, not all I would assume though. Jack had a real thick puppy coat. Now he is somewhat thinning out quite a bit at 6 months. He is definitaly going to have a blondish grey silky coat. Mandy is almost a 1yr and she is a real thick cottony coat. I really think the coat will thicken up in a few months.
