I'm not that knowledgeable, but I do have Addie on Orijen. She loves it, and yeah, I totally agree. I hate smelling the fish from the 6 Fish every time I have to fill her bowl. But she likes it, so I deal.
If it were me, I would feed the puppy formula of Orijen and then switch when she was one. I've heard the term "puppy formula" is a gimmick to charge more, but I'm not sure. Personally, I'm one of those people who would just want to play it extra safe and follow the rules by feeding my puppy the puppy formula until she's a year old.
