The rabies shots I waited for the pups to be 6 months old. When I talked to my vet she said 6-9 months... And since they did fine with all their vaccinations we gave it at 6 months. Bella is a little over 3 pounds and Anakin is at about 2 1/2- 2 3/4.
Even though I vaccinate my pups they go to the vet just the same. Just cause you do your own shots doesn't mean the pups are not seen by the vet regularly. I would rather go in for a check up and do shots at home then countine to take them to the vet over and over just for a shot. Plus my vet allows we to take copies of the shot record and leave it with the
to show proof incase someone needs it. In my situation it isn't to save a few bucks... It is because in my situation I can do the same thing here. (plus with puppies I don't want to expose them to all the things at the vets office.) We use to vaccinate our horses also. It really is personal prefrence... If you feel uncomfortable and want to go to the vet that is fine too.
