I am with the "sneak in" crowd. When we got our baby boy we were out of state and travelling for 3 days. We took him into 3 different places, all without saying a word and no one caught us.
On the other hand, I have a 100 pound german shepherd who is a search and rescue dog. He has a service vest. I can take him anywhere, and have. He has visited my mother in the hospital, gone to a nursing home, been in walmart and lowes....oh, and we walked right in the front door of our hotel with him, registered and had no issues (it was a Hampton, that time, I believe).
So, with the 5 pounder, I use "don't ask, don't tell" for the big guy: its service vest time!
