I have a puppy that is 1.4lb at 6 months. We tried vet #3 today and he was supposed to call me back tonight about whether or not my puppy has liver shunt and I have heard nothing and tried calling him but after hours nurse said I cannot call him at home. So fellow Yorkie lovers I need some help please!! I am really begging for everything that you have in knowledge of these two things, MVD and liver shunt. He said he is almost positive it is that but he is getting her bile acids reports from the vet who ran them last. Maddie's symptoms consist of: vomiting, no weight gain, no appetite, hypoglycemia, low iron, constipation and bloat, little poops or squishy green ones, one seizure, hair loss, belly is tight as it can be with something bulging from her sides, sleeps all the time, whines when picked up, acts like she is gagging throw her head back and forth like a chicken and making weird noise then hangs her head way back or downward in a grazing position often whenever she does this most of the time throws up when she does this. I have probably missed some but the vet has my list.

I am sorry this is so long I have posted so many threads on here whenever she has a different symptom pop up and I cannot take this him not calling me tonight like he said its really stressing me out! If It is liver shunt I have been calling different places in Virginia where we live and only Virginia Tech and a place in Fairfax do the surgery so far that I have been able to contact at 7pm at night. And the place in Fairfax wants $3000 to do it. I am really hoping its not shunt but everything fits together even though the vet #2 said it was not and vet #3 thinks it is. If anyone knows somewhere that does a good job at fixing liver shunt that is within a $2000 or less price range within 4 hours driving distance to Wytheville Va I would greatly appreciate it!!!!!!!!!
