Well, one of our favorite jokes in Nursing school was "What do you call the person who graduated at the bottom of their Medical School class?" -- "A Doctor"

.
I am SUPER ridiculously picky about my physicians - I'm a nurse, my sister is a doctor, her husband is a doctor...so, medical stuff in our family is often discussed, as is "care".
When me and hubby moved to AZ, it took me FIVE docs until I found an internist with whom I thought did a good job for my healthcare. Her staff is responsive, she is responsive, and she is sharp.
This doc you went to, was it your regular doc or a new one? I find that if you have to go to someone (urgently) who is not your regular doc, the level of care can nosedive.
Do you have a regular internist who you see as your main doc? If yes, call their office - and ask them if they can obtain your results STAT
for you and then get back to you right away.
It can be a real pain in the butt (or finger!

) - but if you have a regular physician, it can help sometimes. If this WAS your regular physician in the first place, then I'd switch if it were me.
Hope you are feeling better. Finger injuries are very painful!
