I had a friend who was walking his dog in a greenbelt and a coyote came and snatched the dog pulling the leash out of my friend's hand. It was hard to believe that it happened, but it did and it was very traumatic. Parks and wildlife people say is was because the coyotes' habitat and thus, food source was shrinking causing them to go after animals they would never bother.
It's sad, very sad.
