Usual responce is yes but sadly maybe not.
If it is now a ingrained learned habit it will take time to get it stopped.
I would use a leash and have him attached to you so that if he goes to pee you can snag him and run outside and reward him for going pee where you want him to.
Please make sure that you have cleaned well the places he was marked before to help with the smell getting in the way of his relearning what he is to do.
