[My Dog Chopper]

Our beloved Chopper is gone after escaping and being hit by a car. This also happened on the kids' first day of school, so what an awful thing it was for them to come home to. Ironically, the kids lost their grandfather unexepectedly to cancer a couple weeks before. Their grandfather, or Popo as they called him, was with us when we picked Chopper up from the breeder. It was also Popo who always loved to play fetch with him. Kids, in their infinite wisdom, come up with some very profound things. They told me that Popo needed Chopper up in Heaven to keep him company and play with him. Although they were such sweet innocent words from children, they were a big consolation to me. The grief and "what ifs" can be overwhelming some days. God bless all those who have also lost their little ones. You are not alone.
