I love the traditional yorkie but I have to admit I have seen some beautiful parti yorkies but I have also seen many that look poorly bred. If the parti is a yorkie, which it is, then other than the additional white coloring, the parti should conform to the yorkie standard and I am not seeing that in most of them. If a breeder is going to breed parti yorkies then they need to not just focus on the color. Conformation and soundness should come first. I have heard that many unethical breeders have been mixing in other breeds with the yorkie to come up with these parti yorkies and I feel that is wrong. If someone wants a parti as a pet then is fine to buy a pet parti yorkie if you find one you really love but if your intentions are to buy a parti for breeding then please do your research and breed only the best. |
