It's possible. How old is he though?
Often times, a dog under a year old will stop after being neutered, but generally speaking, getting a dog neutered before 6 months of age will prevent marking more.

I think it's worth it to give it a shot as I think neutering is the right thing to do anyways, but that's just my opinion! I think it makes for an all around better pet.
