It is very possible.. I took in my first rescue that was two years old and I had him neutered.. he was not trained at all... and he did train.. takes time and patience.. but it can happen...I would use a belly band at night and watch him by day.. if he has access to outside via doggie door then it is harder to put a belly band on in the house..but they generally do not like the belly band making them wet..
