Amanda - I did consider going raw as well, only thing there is I don't have any idea where to start or what to give since Gucci is so sensitive. I do agree that Pumpkin and Rice is better than some meds the vet would give. Much more natural for him.
As for Gbear He is doing well right now and hasn't had a BM since earlier today.. which is good because for a while it was constant until there was nothing left. Smaller amounts would come out and it was more frequent (which is a symptom of IBD from what I've read). Earlier it was a little less runny and not discolored at all. Hopefully after tonights pumpkin and rice he will be on the mend. I am now asking food suggestions, since it's obviously something going on with his insides. |
We put Ranger on the NB Fish and Sweet Potato after the lightbulb clicked in my head that it might possibly be his food triggering all this. I fed that for several months with no issues then went to NV raw, which I didn't like but he had no problems, and finally to Primal raw. I have fed Wellness Core (ocean) with no problems either, as snacks and lunch.
I would try a fish-based diet or something like the venison and sweet potato from NB. Try to get something with none of the same ingredients as the Innova he's on. Talk to Crystal (Ellie May) about IBD, she goes through some seriously hard times with Ellie but has tons of great info. I know it's incredibly hard to diagnose 100%.
