Just wanted to let you know there are decent moms, dads, and contestants that are not bad. My daughter is 29 and a functioning mother of three. |
I think girls can grow up after pageants and become normal, healthy woman as your daughter has. But I think in the last 10 years especially the last couple, things are getting pretty extreme. Dying their hair, false teeth, eyelashes, 80 tons of make-up, spray tans, fake nails, hair extensions, the sexy skimpy outfits...................
Your daughter I'm sure back then did have the extreme things done to her appearance back then as these girls are having done today.
I grew up with two sister who were not in pageants but who's mom was very superficial. Her mom was one who always believed you had to be bleached blond and super tanned to be beautiful. She dyed her daughters hair bleach blond from the time they were infants, gave them perms at 2 years old......
My friend was very, very naturally pretty and did not need any make-up or anything at all. Now when I see her in her mid 30's she has changed her beautiful natural look to someone who has to tan everyday to the darkest she can be, has huge breast implants way to big for her frame. Is anorexic and even when her make-up looks like Tammy Faye's, she still has to put on more every 30 mins. It's very sad. When we went out the odd time in our 20's out to a nightclub she would tell men that she was stripper instead of the respectful successful job she realy did.
I think that telling little girls they need to do all those changes to their appearance to be beautiful can be very dangerous.
