i know it's fraustrating and time consuming; but maybe you can do some research on the batryl and the side effects; and other alternative medication or helpers; such as Epakitin used for kidney disease
Amazon.com: Epakitin for Dogs and Cats, 50 gm:... also you might have to change the diet to something low in protein; see the honest kitchen preference formula and add white fish to it; and some digestive enzymes to aid digestion and add some probiotic;
all these things can improve health and might help your dog; good luck
