Default Yorkie holding a grudge? Anyone else have experience with this?

My mother-in-law has a one-year-old female yorkie who usually has seperation anxiety whenever she leaves her. She practically has a panic attack and cries when she leaves. She doesn't like to go to anyone else.

As far as her grudges go, if my MIL ever makes a loud noise that scares her, she runs off and won't look at her or snuggle with her anymore and it takes her awhile to get over it. Recently my MIL went on a business trip for a few days. She is now pouting again and my MIL is hurt because she now prefers to be with her husband. She has tried several things to get her to act like herself again. She takes her for a walk after work and plays with her. She has tried giving her treats and said she seems fine now until her husband gets home from work. She is upset because she only wants to be with him now. Anyone else have experience with their yorkie behaving this way or any suggestions on what she could do?
