Usually at the end of the 5th week you can tell on your own. Stand her on her hind legs on your lap, her back against your chest. If she's pooching toward her vagina....pretty much she's pregnant. X-ray only about a week before her first due date.
Some never expand until their last week...especially with their first pregnacy and great muscle tone.....
Some girls vaginal opening does not swell, even at delivery time......An ultrasound will inform you that that she is able to deliver these pups without a c-section. X-ray will give a clearer pic of skeletal structure and approximately how many she's carrying.....now, there could be one hiding....so, don't be surprised if one or two more are born.
