Well on 6/29 his results were
ALT of 128.

The ultrasound was conducted after second results and told me neutering would be fine and with no symptoms would not recommend biopsy.
State that sue to levels being mildly elevated Microvascular dysplasia may be considered.
I had to switch doctors she didnt completely follow up with the doc and I know there are risks but she kept making it seem like she didnt want to do it and then she kept saying it was a shunt. She makes me feel like if I choose to neuter that I am killing my dog .
Pleae help me if you know anything or have been through this. Are all vets like this. |
that is mvd - any time it is below 100 on post it is mvd usually - my dd had the same numbers as yours and no signs at all and she is fine no symtpoms nothing. She is only on a low protein diet and does great and now on low protein she is post 26 and previously she was 73 and 54 - also sometimes the gall bladder contracts and that throws the numbers off too. Shunts are usually when bile acids are over 100 and dog is showing symtpoms -- yeah i would switch vets if you are not comfortable as sounds like she is real quick to rush into liver shunt - although she at least knows about it unlike my vet before
so that is a plus-- we only found out after switching vets due to putting my dd on atopica and he wanted her liver checked first with bile acids since she is a yorkie and up to that point dd had seen 3 different vets none of which even mentioned it
i always get copies of everything from vets and specialists and keep a file in case of emergency you have it to give the er
