Congrats on your new furbaby. I would take him out every 30 minutes just to give him the idea that you go outside to pipi, then stretch it out... name the deed and when he does it, praise and give him a small cheerio, right then so he associates the deed with oh boy, I'm going to get a treat. Perhaps get a few belly bands in case he decides to lift his leg and mark.
Let him go into his crate with a bully stick or other toy so he can get used to being in the crate and see that the crate is a good place for him.
Mine let me know they have to go potty by smacking a bell connected to a leash on the back door knob.
