Congratulations on your new addition! Royal Canin YT formula isn't a horrible food, and many do well on it, but it isn't the best food, either.

First you have to decide whether you want to feed kibble (high protein or lower), canned, homecooked or raw. Then start doing some research. For a kibble, you want a high quality food with great ingredients. Wellness, Innova, Nature's Variety and Orijen are popular choices. Look for a food with one or more proteins as the first few ingredients. You do not want any corn or by-products anywhere in the ingredients. There are many helpful threads on this site about feeding and how to decide on a high quality food.
