 All 3 of my Yorkies have a long/full coat!
I have 3 Yorkies, my male Artie (5 yrs. old) has a full/long coat. I used to have his hair trimmed when he was a puppy but I was Traveling alot and I got tired of trying to find a "Good Groomer" w/c was Impossible! So when I got my 2nd Yorkie, Abigail (4 yrs. old) and then their daughter Pom Pom.
I have been doing all their Grooming since they were born. I do have a couple of collars, but I only have them on when they are @ a "Party" or Public Function where they are watched by me! Just in case the Collar gets caught on something? I'm very Paranoid, since I have had Friends w/small Dogs that have choked to death, by accident of course. I have all 3 of them in choke-free Harnesses w/their Rabies Tag & Name/Cell# Tag w/c they only wear when they go out for their "Walks". I have Trained them NOT to dart out every time a Door is opened for any reason, they are also Trained off Leash
so I can take them outdoors too! They are also Micro-chipped w/my current Info. I don't use their Harnesses on them unless they have Clothes on and the Harness is worn over a T-shirt, Sweater or Dress, depending on the Weather? Otherwise it will tear/break their Hair off and also cause it to Matt and Tangle. It's also very important to Condition the Coat before your Brush
it, that will also cause the Hair to break-off and only grow to a certain length.
It's alot of work to keep them in a full coat but it's worth it!
