I think it is great to socialize Yorkie's with larger dogs, but very carefully and with an attentive eye. I wanted to post a warning to watch the dogs food bowls. My uncle has 2 pom's and a golden/lab mix. Last month one of the pom's, who usually gets along great with the larger dog, snuck into the garage and started eating the larger dogs food. The usually timid dog went crazy and grabbed the pom in his mouth and threw it. Unfortunately, the pom did not survive and my Uncle's family is devistated. I too don't want to scare you, but would feel worse if something happened and you had not been warned of the possible dangers. Dogs will be dogs, and like stated earlier - they have instincts that they will act on.

My dog, Laila, loves all dogs - but I am very cautious and watchful. It is always the dog you least expect that will go after your pup. My friend has a pitt-bull who is great w/ Laila (I am super duper cautious and always stand about 3 feet from her at all times just in case - I am aware of the pitt nature). My other friend has the laziest bulldog you have ever met. I have never seen him run or anything, lol - but I put Laila on the floor the other day about 20 feet from him and he just took off toward her. I couldn't believe it - I scooped her up w/ plenty of time to spare, but had never seen the bulldog move so fast in my entire life! Just use caution and be overprotective before under.
