My Pebbles is a platinum blonde.... I have yet to see any of her pups turn that way.... I did keep one of her pups from her last litter and Sherry (yorkiegirl2) has one also. I guess we will see how they turn out. I thought it was the absence of pigment (or lack of) that causes the color.... My Rocky, the male she mated with, is silver in color.
