. The tips should be polished and not sharp. Don't buy these in the pet store, they are all poor quality that I've seen, and the tips aren't polished. I like the Maden brush, and many people recommend the Chris Christensen brush.
Here's another type of pin brush that that has plastic rounded tips, and you shouldn't use this type either, if you are growing the coat, as it will break the hair.
