He was a gift I was given after 30 years of waiting. I was hoping to breed him, but when I was ready to breed, a breeder looked at him and told me he was not a good representative of the standard. It broke my heart, but I have been researching everything I can and I have to agree. But he is still my baby and I adore him. I have since added two girls to my family(half sisters three years apart), and the older one had a puppy last year in July and went into heat this past January. I assumed, since that was six months after her litter that the cycle changed with pregnancy. So I wasn't expecting Vicky to cycle 4 months after her puppies. So the other one must be on an 8 month cycle.
