I took a break from this board a while back when I felt the same way. There were some posts/replies that definitely came across as condescending and just mean when I asked for advice. I don't think most people would post out here for help and not consider the advice given. And no, advice doesn't have to be sugar-coated, but caring and genuine, both for the poster and the dog. Ask questions to get a better feel of the problem. Take a few minutes when responding to put yourself in the other person's shoes.

Yorkie118, please overlook the negative responses. They may have been having a bad day as well. I believe that there are more compassionate owners out here than negative. You might find someone you think communicated help well and send them a message instead of posting. Good luck with your Yorkie. I found that a schedule was an immense help for me and Molly in the early days, and that advice came from someone out here who took the time to help.

I hope that with patience and understanding we all become the owners our babies deserve.
Thank you for this post. I've more or less left YT because I couldn't bear to read any more of the posts you referred to. It's all about manner and I think sometimes passion makes people forget that. I don't think there are any really bad people on here.

I will say one thing. Think how you would feel if you came back to a thread and found out people had been talking about you instead of to you? Just a thought.
