I think it is the same theory, but Brad is much rougher with the dogs. I think Cesar can be pretty rough, but in the few shows I've seen, Brad repeatedly lifts dogs off their feet by their collars, and encourages owners to do the same. Sometimes it doesn't even seem like he likes dogs all that much.
It is a scary thought that people pay to learn how to train like him. That's why it's so important to make sure you agree with your trainer's philosophy.
I've mentioned before that some good friends of mine had a pit bulls with serious emotional issues. They rescued him from the pound, who told them he was a Vizla. Oops. Anyway, they hired a trainer, and thinking back on it, I realize this guy must have been completely old school. He told them to get a choke collar, and snap it. He also told them not to pet him, because he couldn't handle too much affection, it would make them seem weak in his eyes. They gave the dog a good life, but they had to limit him in many ways because they never had confidence in his behavior. I never touched him. I don't know how they found the trainer, but it's a shame they ended up with that one.
