I bathe Sophie regularly (once a week) and when I give her a bath, I usually treat at the same time. She is 16 weeks old and now LOVES her bath. She has even begun to like the blow dryer (the Andis pet dryer) because she knows it's warm! What helped me was to put some warm water in the sink I use so she's not just on the cold marble and to talk to her while I'm bathing her. She loves to hear "Yay, Sophie!" or "Good job, Sophie!" Before I use the blow dryer and brush, comb, etc., I also towel dry her and carry her around for a bit wrapped up in the warm towel. She likes that a lot. Then I blow dry her and brush and we're done! Tonight I gave her a bath and she even let me use the blow dryer on her head, which she used to HATE! I was able to get her almost completely dry with the dryer. I was very proud of her. Also, ever since I began using a conditioner on her, she has seemed to enjoy her bath, better, too. |
