Sadie has been to numerous training classes. I started her out wearing a collar but I was uncomfortable with it. I bought her an easy walk harness and the training class is fine with it. It is a step in harness with the D ring in the front of the chest instead of behind her back. She weighs four pounds and the petite fits her. The first picture is an easy walk harness. I've also ordered a Walk Nice harness from Chattiesmom. I can't wait for it to get here! It is custom made to fit your dog. Also it is made of silk so it won't break their hair. It is shown in the second picture. I like it because it has a D ring in the front for training and also in the back for "fun" walking. My training class is perfectly ok with either of these. I'm also enclosing the link to the silk harnesses and leashes that Chattiesmom sells. There really are ways around the collar issue - they should work with you on it. If they won't I'd look for another training class!
