is there a reason you can't crate/ or play pen him at night??

if you really don't want to or he's not good with crates, try an exercise pen...it's just like a little corral for dogs, you can buy a piece of linoleum mat or flooring at like home depot or lowes and put that under his x-pen so he's got a flooring under his butt and use the potty pads in the x-pen with him on that linoleum..

or if you really can't even pen him up in an ex-pen or play pen, just try to put the linoleum piece down in his sleepin area with a pee pad and try to get him to use that at night on the tile???

i don't let mine run around at night, she's crated by the bed next to me..she does really well sleeping in there and cries out a little at 3am to go out to pee outside...

dogs do well in crates because of a natural instinct not to wet their sleeping area...but if the pup is really not into a crate or you just don't like to use them, you might try the x-pen, play pen or just tile your floor

OR: use blankets on the flooring area that he/she sleeps in at night, keep her/him at least closed into your bedroom or something so they can't roam the whole house.

did that help/make sense???
