Midwesterner in torential downpour Hey there,
we're getting a ton of rain in the midwest and it's not stopping until Wed. i am trying to potty train Sadie to eliminate outside only. I do use potty pads only when i'm gone from the house for several hours, like if both Mike and I work all day, she uses them and only them, she's really good going on them, so when the rains and storms roll in, i'm contemplating letting her use the potty pads and not have to go out in the rain storm and get soaked and cold.
My concerns:
She won't pee in the rain very well, she's cold and shakey
We hold an umbrella over her, but then we get soaked and cold (i have a cold)
she did use the pee pads the other night when it was raining because she wouldn't pee outside so i had to try something and it worked.
would having her use the pee pads only during increment weather until she can fit into her rain coat and sweaters be ok?? or would it set us back in potty training her to go outside if we use both the pee pads and the outside in training her???
any experience with rain and snow and switching the potty routine?? |
