There is also a pre-vaccination regimen that can be followed for vaccines more prome to causing reactions.
It is my understanding that there are many types of lepto virus out there and the vaccine only covers a very few of the strains (much like a flu shot), so vaccinating does not necessarily prevent contraction of Lepto.
