Assuming you have prepared a whelping box and the usual neccessary kit. An honest answer will be: Yes sometimes things do go wrong and there is no alternative answer; you either rush to a vet or you may lose the bitch and the puppies. Being an optimistic person I assume that all goes well. Your presence and love during whelping will ease the bitch's tension. Good luck.
