I am just sick. I fed the birds this morning and forgot to put the cover on the cage. I went downstairs to take my shower and came up to feed them and only saw 4. I quickly looked and found Maddie and Libby standing over a baby bird and he/she was dead. I feel utterly sick. I don't know how this baby got out because they aren't flying yet...maybe this poor baby decided to try his wings. I don't know which of the dogs got him, so I'm mad at both and they won't get a treat today. The little bird wasn't bitten or anything. I suppose they were playing with him. Darn it...what a way to start the day. It was my fault...I forgot the cover. I didn't sleep much last night and maybe didn't have all my senses. That poor baby died a frightful death. I feel like such a horrid person! That baby depended on me and I let him down.
